9-1-1 will provide access to your local emergency agencies.

When to Call 9-1-1…..

· Car Accident — Boat Accident — ATV Accident — Snowmobile Accident

· Heart Attack  —  Stroke  —  Seizure —  Any Medical Emergency

· FIRE of ANY Type — House —  Grass —  Woods —  Car  —

· Crimes in Progress  —   Burglary     —    Fight  —  Robbery —

· Unconscious Person   

· Choking Person

· ANY Dangerous situation —  Gas Leak  —  Power line down

· If in doubt — it is better to call

DO NOT CALL 9-1-1 for:

· Weather or Road Conditions

· Electrical outages — Call your Electric Co.

· Loud party or music

· Barking dogs or cats up a tree

· Directions or General Information

Call 9-1-1 to report ANY Emergency.

9-1-1 is for any Life Threatening Emergency

Do Not Call 9-1-1 if the problem is not an emergency

Look up the non-emergency number in the phone book. If you call 9-1-1 for non-emergencies, someone with a real emergency might have a delay in receiving service.

What Should I Say When I Call 9-1-1?
All you have to do is answer our questions! Stay on the phone and answer the Emergency 9-1-1 Officer’s questions.  Stay as calm as you can so you can help the person in need

We will ask the following:

 

· The Physical Address of the problem.

      If you do not know the address, be prepared to give directions or describe your location.

· The type of problem.

      — Tell us in plain language what is happening. The 9-1-1 Communications Officer is trained

           to get more information while the emergency units are responding. We may ask you to

           stay on the line and we will relay information to the emergency responders or give you

           pre-arrival Instructions for some situations (usually medical calls).
